AISI D6 Tool Steel is a high-carbon, 12% chromium alloy cold work tool steel with tungsten. D6 steel is an air hardening alloy tool steel with excellent resistance to wear and abrasion. As a high carbon high chromium tool steel D6 has better through hardening properties than D3 steel and dimensional stability combined with high resistance to tempering.

We could supply ASTM D6 tool steel and equivalent grade in DIN 1.2436 steel/X210CrW12 steel, JIS SKD2 steel in good quality as per standard requirements.

1. Supply Range of ASTM D6 Tool Steel

D6 Steel Round Bar: diameter 8mm – 4000mm
D6 Steel Plate: thickness 2mm –300mm x width 200mm – 800mm
Other sizes of D6 oil steel or as per customer’s requirements
Surface Finish: Black, Sand Blasting, Rough Machined, Peeled, Turned or as per given requirements.

5. Forging of D6 Steel

D6 tool steel is heated slowly and uniformly to 700°C (1292°F) and then more rapidly to 900-1050°C (1652-1922°F).

7. Applications for ASTM A681 D6 Tool Steel

AISI/SAE D6 steel is used for blanking dies for cutting sheets up to 2mm thick, paper & plastic blades. Steel D6 is also suitable for the below applications:
Blanking tools, stamping tools, embossing tools, scraping tools, trimming tools, woodworking tools, drawing tools, press tools, stone moulds, sintered tools, machine knives, hammer cores, ring rollers, thread rolling dies, plastic moulds.
